What is spreading breath ?

Coming over from deep-breathing or abdominal breathing one spreads the breath over the body. Breathing-in while pointing our spirit &/or thought(s) & breathing-out, while sweeping our spirit &/or thought(s) downwards with the body, towards the bottom of our being. The ‘body-scan-method’ (see archives) of the 8th steps Patãnjali yoga sutras, should be incorporated at this point & all of that can be done with the eyes either open or closed.
