Confrontation with disgusting, revolting & resentful images & events raises the chance 4 intruding thoughts & from there-on-out stress.

Besides of course avoidance in the first place as solution, one can use psychological distraction which will reduce the stress that was activated by events one cannot control.

In situations wherein one has little as 2 no control,  distraction & other emotional directed techniques are more effective in reducing stress than problem directed coping & this hasn’t have 2 include turning a blind eye or pretend one hasn’t seen. Other attempts 2 escape within one’s mind in positive thinking are futile in trying 2 change & forget certain images that cannot be completely forgotten nor erased anymore 4 they have been experienced &/or seen !
